At the 1999 Mentor Conference there were many questions about meeting the Head Start Reauthorization Requirements. One question specifically centered on the Flint River Tech child development diploma. It was the understanding of the participants that they had no place to get the add-on courses to earn an associate degree.
After some investigation, I discovered that Flint River Tech has an articulation agreement with Gordon College. Gordon College will honor the diploma from Flint River and with approximately 5 more courses will award an associate degree in applied science.
Any more questions? Just e-mail me and I will try to find the answer or suggest places for you to find the answer. Remember, if you discover something interesting, share it with your protege, program staff, and all of us.
Thanks,
Tracey
